As a new school year begins, classrooms across Southwest Florida are buzzing with possibility. From elementary students discovering technology for the first time to high schoolers earning industry certifications, our K–12 schools are where the region’s future innovators are taking their first steps. These students are more than learners—they are the foundation of the Gulf Coast’s growing tech corridor.
The stakes are high. Our region produces approximately 400 computer and math-related graduates each year, while employers post several hundred openings for IT, cybersecurity, and data roles every month.
The gap is clear, but so is the opportunity. By aligning curricula with industry needs, expanding teacher training, and connecting students to real-world experiences, we can transform today’s learners into tomorrow’s leaders.
